Following a stint as a cinematographer early in his career, Magellan yearned to tell the stories himself and began working on television commercials. His first major assignment was directing a short film for the Wyoming Health Department about the dangers of secondhand smoke on children. His gut-wrenching portrayal of a single mother coming to grips with the impact her tobacco usage was having on her ailing son earned him a reputation for tackling social issues with dramatic fluency. He’s since gone on to direct commercials for leading brands like Mercedes-Benz, Puma, and TAG Heuer, and music videos with major artists like G-Eazy.

Magellan is currently pursuing opportunities in episodic television and developing his own projects. He resides in Venice Beach, California.
